Sunday was my first sale and it went quite well. I sold three of my most expensive ornaments and five of the cheapest. I was worried that Japanese people wouldn’t be interested in them but many women still expressed interest. Unfortunately, it was raining which decreased traffic at the festival and also proved my theory that glitter glue is absolutely not waterproof. At least one of my ornaments was completely ruined. Luckily none of the others got wet. Since it was my first experience selling ornaments, I am pleased with the results.
My friends that shared the tent also had good sales. Ingrid was selling her wonderful Japanese gocco prints at the table across from mine. She has a website and an Etsy store. Please click on the links and check out her work. They are really beautiful.
You may notice from the video that the three of us were expecting to share a table. We learned later that the other groups that were to share the tent with us canceled, so we spread out to all 3 tables. We’ve been invited to come back next year. I think if my friends join me again we will be sure to get our own tent. I also have plans to improve my display. I’m looking forward to next years festival.
