Ornament Artists to follow on Instagram in 2024
The first app I downloaded when I got my first smartphone was Instagram. It’s the one social media app I have continued to enjoy using every day. There is no doom-scrolling for me on this one. When I need creative inspiration or a quick laugh, Instagram has just what I need. So today, I’d like to share my top 6 favorite ornament artist’s Instagram accounts for 2024, in no particular order.

Svetlana from Russia has been on Instagram since 2021. She makes lovely ornaments, and her photo staging is fantastic. Step into a world where you sit by the window on a beautiful spring morning, enjoying a book and a relaxing cup of tea. A few Easter egg ornaments are on the table before you to celebrate the season. So tranquil and instantly calming, don’t you agree? Or be instantly transported to Russia and savor the rich colors and timeless cultural traditions. I always look forward to her posts in my feed, and I think you will, too.

Lauren Bruce lives in Oregon, USA, and has been on Instagram since 2019. She is a highly talented sequined and beaded ornament artist. My favorites are her whimsical diorama ornaments, which include tiny figurines to complete a charming scene. Using vintage beads and foils for an authentic mid-century vibe, her delightful creations always make me smile, and I hope they make you smile, too. Check out her Etsy shop, where she sells ornaments and ornament-making supplies.
_arkaneli_
Located in Yerevan, Armenia, Arkaneli has been on Instagram since 2019. This artist does fantastic things with kimekomi, molding, decoupage, and artfully placed cord trim. I’m a massive fan of the painted molding and stones that add dimension and texture to each of her pieces. Her style draws inspiration from nature and fairytale magic. You can follow her on Instagram or Facebook.

Irina, from Kyiv, Ukraine, has been on Instagram since 2019. I’ve admired her kimekomi ornament sets for a long time. She often uses velvet, satin, and lace. Each ornament in the set uses the same fabrics and trim but has a different design, and her execution of the kimekomi technique is flawless. For spring, she made floral cross-stitch eggs with lace trim that are so lovely. I can’t wait to see what she does next.
mmmcrafts
Larissa Holland of mmmcrafts lives in Georgia, USA, and makes felt ornaments and ornament patterns. I love her unique, playful designs. Look at that adorable little mouse in a teacup—too cute! I’m going to give her Lode Star ornament pattern a try when it becomes available. I’ve been looking for something that will be an excellent addition to my tree and is also creatively a little out of my comfort zone. Challenging myself with a new craft medium will be refreshing. Her patterns are available in her Etsy shop.
temari_bunko
Temari is a traditional Japanese handicraft in which thread-wrapped balls are embroidered with intricate designs. I am a massive admirer of Temari, and though I’ve only dabbled a little in making it myself, I am constantly inspired by the patterns. I often try to recreate the designs using the kimekomi technique I prefer.
Temari_bunko is the official account for the Japan Temari Association permanent gallery in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan. They’ve only been on Instagram since July 2023, but they have posted hundreds of photos from their collection, and there is plenty to see on their profile.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get a reply to my request to use some of their photos for this article, but I still wanted to include them because it’s one of the best Instagram accounts I started following this year. You can also visit their website and check out their virtual 3D gallery, where you can see the balls on all sides by dragging your mouse. I spent a pleasant evening browsing their website. The patience, skill, and artistry of each piece is inspiring. I plan to visit them in person since I’m not too far from the gallery.
